Day 199 – June 9, 2014 – Last Day in Spain.

Went to the Royal Tapestry Factory this morning (no photos allowed), then a great meal, and a couple of museums including the Reina Sofia where we saw some famous works.  Great last day, ended with a Mexican dinner, hankering for home!

Day 198 – July 8, 2014 – Segovia.

What an amazing day!  We rode the metro, then the fast train, then a bus, and arrived at the Roman aqueduct.  Went to the cathedral, and the Alcazar, and had an amazing meal of suckling pig.  A Segovia tradition….

Day 197 – July 7, 2014 – Madrid en Bicicleta.

We had an awesome time today riding bikes on Madrid Rio.  Soccer stadium, crazy head structure, 2000 year old Egyptian temple…. ziplines, adult teeter totters… fun!!!

Day 196 – July 6, 2014 – Madrid Adventures.

Had fun today, bus ride and an accidental tour guide, a local took us from the bus to the teleférico (cable car tram).  Tram took us to the other side of the city, and we got some great views.  Then we got stuck in the royal gardens, but found some fun birds in there to shoot (with my camera).

Day 195 – July 5, 2014 – Madrid Meandering.

Walked a ton today, not too many photos, but enjoyed a couple of fun culinary adventures…. novelties here really…. fajitas and grilled veggies!  Two of our favorites from home, hard to find here.  A little boat time on a “lake” and lots of looking up at buildings to see the architecture.

Day 194 – July 4, 2014 – Historic Madrid Walk.

We saw the cathedral, the royal palace, and other beautiful architecture.  I love how green this city feels.  There are parks everywhere.

Day 193 – July 3, 2014 – Madrid Rain Aftermath.

The skies opened in Madrid before we arrived.  Hail, thunder, and lightning accompanied the rain.  The skies during sunset were glorious!  Both of these were taken from the patio of our flat.  Mmmmmm.

Day 192 – July 2, 2014 – Mezquita Cathedra in Cordoba.

This is a cathedral that is built inside of a mosque.  The juxtaposition of the two religions combined with the vastness of the structure took my breath away.  Also enjoyed walking the streets peeking into Cordoban patios.

Day 191 – July 1, 2014 – Cordoba Evening to Remember.

Amazing skies, wonderful food, and history everywhere we turned greeted us after Bryan braved the narrow streets to bring us to our hotel.  It happened to be right across the street from the Mezquita Cathedral.  Wow!

Day 190 – June 30, 2014 – Mijas, a Magical Village Visit.

Loved our visit to Mijas.  Wonderful artisan community with burro taxis! Views of whitewashed homes on the hillside, all overlooking the Mediterranean.  A glimpse into the past at a local museum was an extra treat.
