Monthly Archives: January 2014

Day 19 – January 10, 2014 – Found Object.

Chickens must make an appearance on this blog.  They won’t stay still for a photo.  Next best?  A stray feather from the yard, held up in the gentle sunset light. Cool detail, love my macro!

Day 18, January 9, 2014 – Glorious Sky.

Pulled over on the side of Petaluma Hill Road on my way to Rohnert Park this afternoon, couldn’t resist the sky, the clouds, and the wonder of nature!  Later, the sunset was glorious, but I was busy teaching BTSA so couldn’t get a shot that didn’t have a streetlight in it…. There will be other sunsets.  This sky, however, is one of a kind.

Day 15 – January 6, 2014 – Hermit Crab.

I brought my camera to work today, and one of my students brought in her new pet hermit crab!  A piece of copy paper on the table and a macro lens, yay!  Fun shot.

Day 17 – January 8, 2014 – Daisy Dew Drops.

Whew!  Managed to shoot this despite a busy day.  Recess, dew still on the flowers in the school garden from last night.  LOVE this image.  Hope you do too!

Day 16 – January 7, 2014 – My Back Door.

Funny.  Drove up to Hood Mountain, looked around, nothing good. Stopped on my way home, took some “ok” sunset pix.  Then popped out on the back patio to see what the sun looked like.  Snapped a few, and then this hanging caught my eye.  Now it can catch your eye too!

Day 14 – January 5, 2014 – Leaves.

Crazy busy day today.  Dashed out in the morning light to try to find something to use. Frozen kale in the garden?  Rusty pipe handrail?  Nope, light on/behind leaves that are somehow still green even though it’s been colder than freezing.  I need some people for subjects.  Anyone interested in a free session???

Day 13 – January 4, 2014 – Flower Tribute.

I took tons of cat and chicken photos today, playing with my macro lens.  This is my favorite.  When our Flower Chicken died, this was her memorial, so I guess it counts as a chicken picture…… Need to figure out how to get the cats and alive chickens to be more calm and photogenic!  I’ll try again, I’m sure.

Day 12 – January 3, 2014 – San Francisco View.

Was across from AT&T Park this afternoon, picnicking in China Basin Park, thought I shouldn’t shoot trees or the sun.  I like the perspective in this one, as well as the shine on the water.

Day 11 – January 2, 2014 – Red Leaves & Berries.

Out on a walk in the neighborhood (geocaching with my husband and best friend), captured this one.  Accidental bokeh reflection of the sunset on the berries in the background was a bonus!

Day 10 – January 1, 2014 – Happy New Year!

Captured this while hiking in Annadel with family.  Tweaked the contrast and exposure in Lightroom to create an intense image.  I like to think of this as the light of the beginning of an awesome year.  Ever growing, ever illuminating new possibilities.  Enjoy!
